Lahore, 17th September: Pakistani TV host Nida Yasir has apologized for her insensitive behaviour on her morning show.
According to reports, Nida Yasir has owned up to her mistake and apologized for calling the parents of 5-year-old Marwah on her show.
It was reported that last week the ARY host invited the parents of a rape-victim on her morning show and discussed the details about the tragic incident. They were the parents of a 5-yar-old child Marwah who was raped and burnt to death.
Netizens angry over Nida Yasir’s insensitive content
The parents cried bitterly on the show along with the host herself. Yet this did not go well with the viewers and netizens. They bashed Nida Yasir for being insensitive for inviting the victim’s parent quite soon after the incident.
This caused controversy and backlash for the host.
Initially, Nida responded back to the users online by giving her side of the story, but later on, the actress made a 4-minute long video and posted on her Instagram account where she explained the details leading up to the controversial episode and its impact.

She starts the video by apologizing to the viewers for hurting their sentiments. Nida explained that her intentions were not to cash on the family’s tragedy but to provide them with the platform to share their grievances.
She also told her fans that her morning show is meant to entertain the people, to enlighten their day, but for this special episode, she dropped all her pre-planned episodes of the show and made sure to convey the message to the concerned authorities.

She also clarified that the victim’s family had approached their show through Sarim Burney Trust so the case could get media attention and support.
In the end, Nida Yasir again apologized for her actions and said that her only intent was to get justice for the victim’s family.
People, on the other hand, have been giving mixed reactions to the apology video. Some calling it a hollow publicity stunt once again. Some netizens are still adamant that PEMRA should ban her show.
