ISLAMABAD: The British Council has been issued an NOC for ‘special’ examinations in July-August, the Federal Minister for Education has confirmed. Issued No Objection Certificate (NOC) in August for taking ‘Special’ O Level Examinations.

On the social networking site Twitter, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood said, “We have issued an NOC to the British Council today and have been allowed to conduct special O-level examinations from July 26 to August 6.” He said that this decision would facilitate O level students to start A level or FA / FSC education from September.

“There is no precedent for such an examination in July and I am happy that Cambridge has made arrangements,” said Shafqat Mahmood.

The Minister of Education also shared a letter written of the Country Director of the British Council stating that the agency has full authority to start the sub-examination series from 26 July 2021 to 6 August 2021. Implementation of SOPs is essential.

Shafqat Mehmood said on Twitter that the epidemic has put all walks of life in trouble but especially education is facing more difficulties. He said, “We are taking tough decisions to continue the education process. There are advantages and disadvantages but for us the interest of the students is always dear.

It may be recalled that earlier the government had postponed the examinations in view of the increase in corona cases in the country.

It may be recalled that the Federal Minister of Education had announced at the end of April that examinations would not be held in the country till June 15 as the number of cases and deaths due to Code-19 was increasing in the country.
