The hearing on the Noor Mukaddam murder case has been adjourned till the 15th of September, in the Islamabad High Court.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, the court has directed Advocate Shah Khawar to file a power of attorney today. Justice Amir Farooq remarked that the parameters for granting and revoking bail are different due to which they would be heard as separate petitions.
The court has reportedly re-issued notice on the bail application of Zahir Jaffer’s mother Ismat Zakir. Petitioner’s counsel Khawaja Harris, Advocate Shah Khawar appeared on behalf of plaintiff Shaukat Mukaddam. According to reports, Shah Khawar assured the court to submit power of attorney.

Advocate Shah Khawar has said that the power of attorney will be submitted by the plaintiff Shaukat Mukaddam today. On the one hand, the bail application for the Therapy Works employees is being heard. On the other, lawyer Khawaja Harris has requested the court to adjourn the hearing till tomorrow.
Earlier, a peaceful protest was organized outside the Islamabad High Court to demand justice for Noor Mukaddam. According to reports, former Envoy to South Korea and father of the victim, Shaukat Mukaddam also participated in the protest to demand justice for his daughter. Contrary to standards, the protest was of a silent nature where protestors held placards to express their demands instead of chanting slogans.
The protestors displayed placards seeking punishment for Mukaddam’s killer and “justice for Noor Apa’ among other demands.

It is pertinent to note that all the evidence to date including a confessional by the cold-blooded murderer Zahir Jaffer, point to the direction that Noor Mukaddam was brutally raped and beheaded. Thereby, it is clear that the daughter of the former ambassador was killed within the limits of Kohsar police station in Islamabad.

Shaukat Ali Muqaddam, while giving a statement regarding the murder of his daughter, said that a call came from Kohsar police station stating that my daughter had been killed and when I reached the spot, I saw that my daughter’s throat had been slit.
Following the initiation of an investigation, the killer Zahir Jaffer and his parents among other accused have been imprisoned in the Adiala Jail. According to reports, the US Embassy has been in contact with Mukaddam’s killer.
Additionally, the police have confirmed that the murder trial has been registered under Section 302 of the IPC on the complaint of the victim’s father.
