ISLAMABAD: An appeal has been filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the acquittal of nine accused in the Noor Muqaddam murder case.
The parents of convict Zahir Jaffer and cook Jameel’s acquittal were challenged in the Islamabad High Court. An appeal was also filed against the acquittal of six accused, including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Therapy Works.

An appeal was also filed to punish the gardener and the watchman under other provisions. Lawyer Shah Khawar filed an appeal on behalf of plaintiff Shaukat Muqaddam. The appeal states that there is digital evidence against the accused. According to reports, the trial court acquitted the accused against the law. The appeal stressed that they should be punished as per the law.
It is pertinent to note that the trial court acquitted the accused Zahir Jaffer’s parents, servants, and therapy work employees.

Earlier, an appeal was also filed in the Islamabad High Court seeking extension of the sentence of Zahir Jaffer, the main accused in the Noor Muqaddam murder case. Plaintiff Shaukat Muqaddam took a stand in the IHC that the convicts Jan Mohammad and Iftikhar also sought extension of the sentence while Shaukat Muqaddam’s lawyer Shah Khawar filed three appeals. The appellant pleaded that there was digital evidence against the convict Zahir Jaffer, the trial court had given a lesser sentence, the punishment of the convicts should be increased as per law.
An appeal was filed in the Islamabad High Court against the 11 accused. Nine of the 11 accused were acquitted, while two accused were not convicted under certain provisions. The appeal of Jan Mohammad and Iftikhar is different. However, Shah Khawar Advocate will pursue the case in the Islamabad High Court.

Earlier, the verdict in the murder case was announced. The court sentenced Zahir Jaffer, the main accused in the Noor Muqaddam murder case, to death. Additional Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani delivered the verdict.
The court sentenced co-accused Zahir Jaffer’s employees Jamil and Iftikhar to 10 years in prison. The court also acquitted the accused’s parents and Therapy Works employees. Noor Muqaddam’s father Shaukat Muqaddam was present in the courtroom to hear the verdict. A large number of lawyers and media representatives were also present in the courtroom. Strict security arrangements were made on this occasion, and a heavy contingent of police was deployed outside the court. When the verdict was announced, Noor Muqaddam’s killer Zahir Jaffar was also present in the court.
