Olivia Rodrigo Reacts to Courtney Love's Accusations of Plagiarism

18-year-old American actress and singer Olivia Rodrigo has been accused of plagiarism by fellow singer-actress Courtney Love, wherein the latter accused her of copying her band Hole’s 1994 album Live Through This.

In an interview with GQ magazine, Rodrigo was questioned regarding this accusation. She took it in stride and calmly answered, “To be honest, I’m just flattered that Courtney Love knows that I exist.”

The 18-year-old singer was accused of copying Live Through This’s aesthetichaving similar art, poses, and style.

The claims did not distress her one bit, and as such, she received praise for handling the situation so calmly. A reporter stated about her, “She deflects certain topics with the ease of Neo dodging bullets in The Matrix—if he had been doing that since he was 12. This includes the accusations of plagiarism leveled at her by Courtney Love.”

It is to be noted that Olivia Rodrigo released her first music album, Sour, on May 21, 2021. The singer-actress is known for her roles in the Disney+ show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series as Nini Salazar-Roberts in, and Disney Channel show, Bizaardvark, as Paige Olvera.
