Olympian Athlete Samiullah’s Hockey Thief Poses Challenge for Authorities

Bahawalpur: The thief who stole the hockey and ball from the statue of Olympian athlete Samiullah has ended up being elusive for the authorities. 

According to the latest reports, the thief has struck once again. The hockey and the ball had been recovered but they have been stolen again, and a video regarding it has been posted by the thief himself, which has gone viral.

According to the police, the thief himself returned the stick and the ball the first time around. Once again, he has stolen them. Police state that they have launched a search for the culprit.

On the other hand, the cantonment board has announced the installation of CCTV cameras along with the statue.

It is to be noted that a man by the name of Nauman, alias Naumi, who owns a rent-a-car business in Bahawalpur, was witnessed acting obscenely and immorally near the statue. He was questioned and detained by the police for acting in such a manner and is also suspected to be behind the thieving acts. However, he has yet to be proven guilty.
