Lahore, 26th May: Operations are underway against wheat hoarders even during the Eid holidays.
According to a report by Baaghi TV, large quantities of wheat were seized in Khanewal, Melsi, and Layyah areas of Punjab. On the strict direction of Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, teams of the Food Department are mobilized in all the districts.
Strict action is being taken by the food department along with law enforcement agencies at the checkpoints in different areas
Senior Punjab Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that there would be no concession for hoarders. Wheat would be sold in the open market at fixed rates. Why should the loss of hoarding and profiteering be borne by the common man?
Abdul Aleem Khan said that the food department is on a 24-hour alert and will not come under any pressure. The wheat procurement campaign is going to be completed soon.
Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan commended the officers of the Food Department for working diligently during the Eid holidays.
