Our Romance with our Army | Baaghi TV

The act of arson. 9th May marks the darkest day in the living history of Pakistan.

After apprehending Imran Khan, the reaction of the public shown by some miscreants has been way too horrendous. As a citizen of this great country, the basis and the very foundation rests in the slogan, “Pakistan ka matlab kia, La Ilaha Illallah”.

Today we see an unprecedented reaction from the public which is unparalleled.

The Jinnah House in Lahore was in flames after it was set ablaze. Some of the valuables were stolen, and other articles were burnt to ashes. This dastardly act of uncontrolled violence sent ripples across the country. Wave after wave of these reckless perpetrators were running amok to do the undesirable damage. This shameless act fuelled conflagration across the four provinces of our most sacred country.

Who is to blame?

The unruly crowd or the political parties across the divide, whose protracted bitterness led to this gory drama. The vehicles were torched. Setting ablaze important buildings is a reprehensible act that can’t be condoned or the wrongdoer pardoned.

We all love our army, every household in Pakistan can proudly boast of being attached to the strings of our most beloved army. Who in the world could ever think of such an abominable act?

Why so much anger and venom?

Is it all because of an ensuing malaise in terms of a failing economy, or an favourable parliamentary system with unsavory and disingenuous people, and this system has done more harm and little good? Was this all a manifestation of some kind of pent-up emotions or just provocation at the hands of a certain few?

I think there are multiple reasons that we need to address.

We have to analyze the matter from its true perspective.

An impartial committee should be formed to see where the problem lies. A secured Pakistan must guarantee rights to its citizens without having anything to do with caste, creed, or any race – without any prejudice or bias.

To incite a junta against the army is exceedingly abhorrent. I, for one, have profound memories of CMH, Kharian. My real uncle who was then the first captain posted there. His photo hangs there receiving General Ayub Khan. We feel pretty happy. He is my real uncle who later became my father-in-law, the late Maj. retired Rashid. We all have our romance with our army. This feeling must stay.

And never die.

The army, the judiciary the parliament must, therefore, operate in their own respective areas without the parallel or fear of being transgressed upon.
