As the third wave of Corona virus continues to spread across Pakistan, the mortality toll is reported to have crossed 15,900 deaths.

According to reports, during the last 24-hours, 112 deaths and 4,976 new cases have been confirmed by the National Command & Operation Center (NCOC). Meanwhile, the total number of deaths is reported to 15,982 with reports of 65,279 tests conducted till date.

The positivity ratio according to latest figures released by the NCOC, is reported to be 7.62% across Pakistan. Provincial statistics show Punjab in the lead with most deaths, 7,271. Meanwhile, Sindh takes the lead with most cases, 270,963.

NCOC statistics have shown that the virus is spreading at an alarming rate with 26 districts marked high-risk areas.

The Pakistan government has urged the public to be cautious and ensure strict implementation of SOPs.

  • Washing hands frequently

According to reports, the government is taking severe action against those who fail to comply with the above SOPs.
