Over 300 ventilators occupied across Pakistan as cases soar

According to reports of Baaghi TV, more than 1,000 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24-hours.

During the last 24 hours most deaths occurred in Punjab followed by Sindh, according to the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC). Out of 58 deaths during last 24 hours, 37 died on ventilators,
52 died in hospital and 6 died out of hospital on 18 Jan. Meanwhile, 1,800 people tested COVID-19 positive on 18 Jan.

  • Multan – 49%
  • Lahore – 38%
  • Islamabad – 32%
  • Peshawar – 31%

Oxygen beds occupied % (4 major areas)

  • Peshawar – 45%
  • Karachi – 40%
  • Multan – 38%
  • Rawalpindi – 26%

Total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan reported to be 35,485 as of 19 Jan, while 36,513 tests conducted on 18 Jan. Provincial statistics show:

  • Sindh: 10,600
  • Punjab: 13,151
  • KP: 6,075
  • ICT: 5,826
  • Balochistan: 259
  • GB: 350
  • AJK: 252

  • Punjab: 150,316
  • Sindh: 236,530

The mortality rate is confirmed at 11,055 deaths.

Since the outbreak spread across Pakistan, 7,442,084 tests have been conducted. Meanwhile, 631 hospitals are providing COVID-19 facilities to 2,840 patients admitted across the country.
