Islamabad September 2 (Online Int’l): The Public Accounts Committee ignored billions of rupees of corruption objections raised by audit reports into water reservoir sector to give a clean chit to the former PPP government. The sources said that all had happened under an alleged political deal between the PPP and PMLN.

The PAC meeting, instead of initiating inquiry against corrupt elements, resolved the matter while ignoring the objections of audit reports. The billions of rupees of corruption scams surfaced in the water reservoir sector during the PPP government in 2012-13. The audit reports had raised objections but the APC meeting, held under the chair of PMLN leader Rana Tanvir, on Tuesday resolved the matter and closed the file. In this regard, the sources said that APC Tuesday meeting was a perfect example. Private media was also barred from attending the meeting.

According to details, billions of rupees of corruption scams were exposed in the water resources sector during the PPP government. However, due to an alleged deal between the two big parties in the country’s politics, the corruptions were declared fair and no objection or action  was pointed. It is important to mention here that former speaker Ayaz Sadiq had already registered his protest against internal corruption and miss-intention.

The PAC meeting was held in the chair of Chairman Rana Tanvir at the Parliament House Islamabad. The meeting reviewed billions of rupees of corruption related allegations in the audit reports. However, the private media was kept away to avoid coverage of the meeting. The meeting reviewed various corruption related scams and due to an alleged deal between the PPP and PMLN the matter was resolved. It is necessary to mention here that PPP had also addressed many such corruption related scams of PMLN during its chairmanship.
