Pak Army Lends Support During COVID-19

Lahore, 24th April: Pakistan Army has always stood strong against the enemy, whenever the country is faced by any threats. Pak Army is firm against the invisible enemy in the form of COVID-19 and lends full support.

According to report of Baaghi TV, DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar while giving details in this regard said that Pak Army has decided not to take IS allowance on corona duty due to the pandemic. Reservists have been called in to enhance the capacity of the Army Medical Corps.

The DG ISPR further said that the civil-military leadership in Pakistan was moving ahead with a comprehensive strategy against the epidemic, adding that the number of confirmed cases was low, but it was feared that the number could increase in the next two weeks.

However, caution is needed, all available resources of Pakistan Army are being used at every level to deal with the epidemic. During smart lockdown, the Pakistan Army is engaged in the fight against Corona as per government orders. We have to take our resources to the provincial, district and UC levels.

General Babar Iftikhar further said that 5 testing labs of Pakistan Army are working, quarantine facilities have been set up at the entrances, Pakistan Air Force and Navy are also working hard in this endeavor.

The Air Force delivered 64 tons of relief supplies to several areas through 17 flights. People stranded in Balochistan due to the lockdown were flown to Gilgit by a special flight. Chinese aid flew to Gwadar by Pakistan Navy ship. Rations are being delivered to millions of deserving people during pandemic.

DG ISPR said that the month of Ramadan teaches patience and endurance, people should keep themselves limited and stay safe from this epidemic, because life is very precious. The next 15 days are important. Be careful, make your homes places of worship.
