Pak team to feature in Tri Nation Tournament

ISLAMABAD, Mar 1 (APP): The Pakistan blind cricket team would feature in the Tri Nation Tournament scheduled to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from April 1 to 10.

“Besides Pakistan, teams of India and Bangladesh will participate in the Tri Nation Tournament,” Syed Sultan Shah, Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) chairman told APP on Monday. Sultan said a three-member selection committee would shortlist 18 players for the Tri Nation Tournament, from the ongoing National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Twenty20 Blind Cricket Tournament Grade-I 2021 in Attock.

Eight teams including Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Attock, Gujranwala, Lahore, Okara and Bahawalpur were participating in the tournament. “The three-member selection committee includes Bilal Satti (chairman); Masood Jan and Syed Ibrar Hussain Shah (members),” he said. Sultan said then the training camp for the players would be held this month in preparations for the Tri Nation Tournament. “The venue for the camp is not yet finalized but will be in a couple of days,” he said. He said the Tri Nation Tournament would be played on double league basis. “Every team will play two matches and the top two on the points table will be in the final,” he said and added that the schedule of the Tri Nation Tournament would be released soon.
