Pakistan announces 35-member squad for New Zealand tour

The Chief Selector and Head Coach of the Pakistan National Cricket Team, Misbah-ul-Haq, announced a 35-member squad for the tour to New Zealand.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Misbah-ul-Haq said that Babar Azam would lead the national team while Mohammad Rizwan would be the vice-captain in the Tests. He said that Sarfraz Ahmed has returned to the team for the tour of New Zealand while Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Amir and Asad Shafiq have been dropped.
Misbah-ul-Haq while announcing the squad for the tour of New Zealand said that the players include Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Azhar Ali, Abid Ali, Haider Ali, Haris Sohail, Hussain Talat, Iftikhar Ahmed.

Furthermore, he said that Khushdal Shah, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Rizwan, Rohail Nazir, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan, Danish Aziz and Fawad Alam are also part of the squad.
Other players include Shadab Khan, Usman Qadir, Yasir Shah, Zafar Gohar, Emad Butt, Fahim Ashraf, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Hasnain and Mohammad Musa, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sohail Khan and Wahab Riaz.
The head coach of the Pakistan team said that Babar Azam is our main batsman and he is taking responsibility. Instead of pressure, Babar Azam’s performance has improved. Hopefully, Babar Azam’s performance will improve further.

In response to a question, Misbah-ul-Haq said that the doors were not closed for any player, Asad Shafiq can back less. When asked about Azhar Ali, the chief selector said that the decision regarding Azhar Ali belongs to the board, I was asked, but I do not think that the recent decisions are the result of a meeting with the pattern.
