Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif hosted a dinner in Islamabad in honor of the visiting South African cricket team and the national cricket team.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister welcomed the South African cricket team to Pakistan and said this cricket series is a symbol of mutual respect and good sports relations between the two countries.

He said Cricket is not just a game but a reason to connect people of different countries.

The Prime Minister highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to promote international sports and maintain a conducive environment for hosting major sports events.

He said cricket promotes brotherhood and peace and there is a need to uphold this original spirit of the game.

He said Pakistan has excellent relations with South Africa at different levels and cricket is one of them.

Shehbaz Sharif said South Africa has produced great cricketers while Pakistani cricketers have also earned tremendous accolades in the world.

He extended best wishes to both teams and expressed hope that they will present a brilliant game.

Speaking on the occasion, the management and players of the South African team thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their warmth and hospitality.

They said the ongoing series is a memorable experience, and they enjoyed the overwhelming support and applause of the Pakistani fans.

During the series, Pakistan and South Africa have played two Test matches while the three match T-20 series is to begin from Tuesday, following which the two teams will also play three One Day International matches.
