Pakistan Gets Historic Opportunity to host ‘MRCP Exams’ Amid COVID19: Sania Nishtar

ISLAMABAD, Nov 9 (APP): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme Dr Sania Nishtar on Monday said that Pakistan is getting a historic opportunity to host’ MRCP (UK) PACES examinations amid COVID19, where doctor can take the high-standard examination in their own country for the first time.

Talking to PTV news channel, she welcomed the British government’s step of providing us this facility where the maximum number of doctors would be able to complete their postgraduate specialisation in their own country. She said the PTI government is paying special attention to provide modern training facilities to specialist doctors and this year where all countries are passing through a critical time of the COVID19 situation, the fact that we are hosting ‘MRCP exams’ is a real pride for us.

She said that as part of our commitment to improve patient care by ensuring high standards of education and training, she is delighted that we’re now able to offer our world-leading clinical examination to doctors in Pakistan. She explained that the Royal College of Physicians is one of the most prestigious and the oldest professional body dedicated to the field of medicine and is training physicians and surgeons for the betterment of the medical field. She said the MRCP is considered the “gold standard” qualification that has groomed the career of many young postgraduates in Pakistan.

She hoped that these training courses will be set up across the country, and that communication skills of doctors will further gain recognition in the medical curricula at all levels.
