According to Baaghi TV’s sources, the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is facing a financial corruption scandal in the name of medicines.
According to reports, Zakat and Baitul Mal departments at PIMS were involved in distributing substandard medicines to patients. According to a reputable source, these practices were being carried out for many years and were not only going unnoticed by the relevant authorities but also causing the national exchequer to suffer a great loss due to this illegal practice.
The amount was approved for approximately 700 patients, at an estimated Rs 110 million, sources claim. The Health Ministry as well as other departments must inquire into this matter, claim sources.
