Lahore (14th June, 2019): Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) faces massive financial corruption scandal.
According to Baaghi TV’s sources, the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is facing a financial corruption scandal in the name of medicines.
According to reports, Zakat and Baitul Mal departments at PIMS were involved in distributing substandard medicines to patients. Sources also claimed that the Zakat and Baitul Mal departments were further issuing cheques to deserving patients of other departments as well as allegedly withdrawing these cheques through bogus billing with the help of pharmacists.
According to a reputable source, these practices were being carried out for many years and were not only going unnoticed by the relevant authorities but also causing the national exchequer to suffer a great loss due to this illegal practice.
The amount was approved for approximately 700 patients, at an estimated Rs 110 million, sources claim. The Health Ministry as well as other departments must inquire into this matter, claim sources.
