“Pakistan is a responsible country”, claims Attaullah Tarar

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar during an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation “BBC” said “Pakistan is a responsible country”.

The federal information minister said that India targeted the civilian population in Pakistan between 6-7 May, 2025 after which “Pakistan retaliated in accordance with the UN Charter”, Attaullah Tarar.

He denied Indian claims that Pakistan targeted the civilian population in India. “We reject the Indian accusation of targeting the civilian population. We took action while exercising our right to defend ourselves”: Attaullah Tarar. He asserted that the Pakistan armed forces only targeted India’s military installations whereas India “itself targeted Amritsar” as reaffirmed by DG ISPR last night. 

Addressing the Pahalgam incident, the information minister said that Pahalgam is located more than two hundred kilometers away from the Pakistan border. He added, “There is no evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam incident. We offered cooperation in a transparent and joint investigation into the Pahalgam incident”.

He said that India has made the Pahalgam incident “suspicious” by registering an FIR just ten minutes after the incident reportedly occurred. “We were attacked, to which we have responded. Pakistan showed all possible restraint”
