Pakistan is hosting three million refugees: Firdous Ashiq Awan

Islamabad (19th Dec, 2019): Special Assistant to the PM on Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has stated that Pakistan has been known to host three million refugees despite it being a poor state.

According to reports, Dr. Awan stated in a series of tweets on Thursday, Pakistan is hosting Afghan refugees for nearly four decades despite the state facing difficulties. She added that this is a commendable act. The Special Assistant further stated that the Prime Minister’s address at the Global Refugee Forum helped to highlight the problems of the helpless refugees, and that PM Khan managed to bring awareness about the refugees’ difficulties across the world.

Dr. Awan further added that addressing the circumstances the that lead to being a refugee is of utmost importance. Moreover, she added that a major refugee crisis can be averted by stopping India from its illegal and inhumane steps against the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
