Pakistan offers condolences at passing of UAE’s Sheikh Khalifa

Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister (FM) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Bajwa express condolences at the passing of United Arab Emirates (UAE) President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. 

According to Baaghi TV reports, PM Sharif has expressed sorrow over the demise of the President of UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and said that UAE has lost a capable leader and Pakistan a great friend. PM Sharif continued with condolences to the government and the people of the United Arab Emirates.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and the Pakistan Army have also expressed condolences at the passing of the Arab leader. According to DG ISPR (Inter-Services Public Relations), the COAS said that Pakistan has lost a great friend, may Allah Almighty grant Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan a high rank in Jannah, and may Allah give courage to the family of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to bear this loss, Ameen. 

Additionally, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed sorrow at the death of UAE’s president. Bilawal Zardari said that the exemplary role of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the development of the UAE is unforgettable. With the death of Sheikh Khalifa, the Arab world has lost an extraordinary leader.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reportedly died. According to reports, the UAE’s official news agency confirmed the death of Shiekh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and said that a mourning period has been declared for the president.

According to media reports, the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be followed by a 40-day mourning period and a three-day public holiday, during which the national flag will remain low. The presidential announcement said there would be a three-day holiday in the federal public and private sectors.

A statement issued by the state news agency confirmed, “The Ministry of Presidential Affairs expresses its condolences to the people of the United Arab Emirates, the Arab and Islamic nations, and the entire globe on the passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates”.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been the ruler of the UAE since November 3, 2004, and took over the leadership of the UAE after the death of his father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
