ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has started exporting Pakistan-made mobile phones with 4G technology.
Advise to PM Imran Khan on Trade Affairs Abdul Razzaq Dawood has said that today is a big day for Pakistan in the country’s exports. Exports of smartphones made in Pakistan have started. 5500 mobile phones have been exported in the consignment. We hope that this will be the beginning of the era of value-added exports from Pakistan.
Abdul Razzaq Dawood said that this is the beginning of the export of value-added products apart from our traditional goods. I will ask the mobile manufacturers in Pakistan to follow this example and export their products.
It is to be noted that Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen has taken important decisions regarding the IT industry on the suggestions of the Federal Minister for IT, in which it has also been announced to give cash prizes to the companies which have shown significant performance in IT exports.
It was decided that one percent of IT exports would be allocated to the Software Export Board and the Software Export Board would spend the funds on skill and business development, setting up of technology parks.
Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen also said that the IT industry would be brought into the tax net and the FBR would formulate revised tax interpretations.
Shaukat Tareen assured the Federal Minister for IT to resolve the issues on a priority basis while Federal Minister for IT Aminul Haq said that he was grateful to the Finance Minister for resolving the long-standing issues of the IT industry.
Earlier, President Dr. Arif Alvi had said that proactive steps should be taken for the development of the IT sector for the economic and scientific development of the country. Pakistan needs to adopt a modern strategy for the scientific and intellectual development of human resources.
