Tensions have once more risen along the Pak–Afghan border, after Afghan forces opened unprovoked fire at several locations on Saturday night.
Pakistan responded by targeting terrorist camps across the border in Afghanistan. Security sources said Afghan forces had withdrawn from several areas.
They added that Pakistan’s retaliation was both effective and severe.
The Pakistan Army responded with force and precision. Security sources made it clear that Afghan forces opened fire without provocation at Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral, and Baram Chah in Balochistan.
Sources confirmed that the purpose behind the firing was to push elements of the terrorist group Khawarij across the border. Military personnel stationed at Pakistani posts responded swiftly and with professionalism. The exchange continues.
The sources said the Pakistan Army destroyed several Afghan border posts in its response. Initial reports confirmed that dozens of Afghan soldiers and terrorists have died.
Taliban forces abandoned several border posts and escaped.
Bodies remain scattered across the area, showing the scale of the fighting.
The escalation came during the Afghan foreign minister’s visit to India. Security analysts consider this a development of regional importance.
The Pakistan Army has continued to monitor the border and remains prepared for any further action.
