Pakistan To Play The Last ODI Against Sri Lanka Today
Karachi: Third and final match of the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played at the National Cricket Stadium Karachi on Oct 2 (today).
Pakistan has a 1-0 lead over their opponents and both teams will compete today at 3 pm local time.
Pakistani opening batsmen Imam-ul-Haq is declared unfit for the match and is unlikely to play today. In the second ODI, Imam-ul-Haq injured his hand while fielding. He was immediately substituted out to receive medical treatment as he sustained a cut on the web of his right hand. Abid Ali is likely to replace Imam-ul-Haq in the squad.
Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 67 runs in the second match, while the first match was abandoned due to rain.
Sri Lankan captain Lahiru Thirimanne has already said that his team will perform better in the third match. The skipper said that despite losing the second ODI, he expects a positive change from his team.
Pakistan needs to win this match in order to win the three match series, however, if the green shirts lose the match, the trophy will be shared.
Pakistan is playing its last one-day international match of this year in the National Stadium Karachi after which the green shirts will play their next match in 2020.
