Pakistan welcomes the ceasefire decision by Taliban
Lahore, 10th May: Afghan Taliban have announced a three-day ceasefire on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and Pakistan welcomes the announcement by the Taliban.
Pakistan has said that it fully supports all efforts to reduce violence and contribute to achieving lasting stability and lasting peace in Afghanistan.
The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan tweeted the same on its Twitter account, saying, “We welcome the three-day ceasefire announcement for Eid-ul-Fitr by Taliban. We fully support all efforts that lead to reduction in violence and contribute to achieving durable stability & lasting peace in Afghanistan.”

Baaghi TV reported earlier in the day that the Afghan Taliban have declared a three-day ceasefire on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Afghan Taliban spokesman Mohammad Naeem says all gunmen have been ordered to stop attacks on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
The Afghan Taliban will not take any action during Eid. The festival can be celebrated in a peaceful and safe environment.
It should be noted that the Afghan Taliban had declared a ceasefire on the occasion of Eid last year as well.
The announcement of a ceasefire by the Afghan Taliban has been appreciated and has been termed as a step towards peace.
