KARACHI (Baaghi TV) – September 13, 2025: At the ARCASIA Awards for Architecture 2025, held in Korea, two Pakistani projects won Gold, underlining Pakistan’s rising stature in regional architecture. On September 10, 2025, awards were presented in categories ranging from institutional buildings to heritage conservation.
ARCOP (Architects Yawar Jilani & Mehboob Khan) secured a Gold in the Institutional Building category for the Bamyan Provincial Hospital—a project where form serves function, dignity and public service. Raees Faheem Associates (Fahim Ahsan Jamil & Mian Raees Uddin) captured top honours in Historical Restoration, for their sensitive conservation of Aitchison College, one of Lahore’s heritage landmarks.

In a ceremony featuring architects such as Jahangir Khan Sherpao, the awards were accepted amid pride and celebration. ARCASIA had earlier announced these finalists in June 2025.
These wins follow Pakistan’s recent success at the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, signaling that efforts in heritage, public architecture, and restoration are gaining consistent global recognition—creating a pattern of excellence. The Pakistan Council of Architects & Town Planners (PCATP) expressed pride in Pakistani architects’ growing global recognition, crediting their creativity, vision, and dedication.

Many see these awards not just as individual projects being celebrated, but as part of a broader upward trend. Designers and restorer-architects are now being viewed as custodians of cultural identity, while also responding to modern needs. As the nation congratulates its architects — ARCOP and Raees Faheem Associates — this moment is proof that when talent meets purpose, global platforms notice. It’s a call for more of Pakistan’s built heritage to be respected, more public institutions to be designed with compassion, and more stories told in stone and space.
For students at Aitchison College, the restoration win holds special meaning—Fahim Ahsan Jamil is himself an alumnus (Class of 1980).
