Pakistani-American student blinded after an acid attack

Lahore, 23rd April: A Pakistani medical student residing in New York almost lost her life after she was attacked with acid.

Baaghi TV: Pakistani-born Nafiah Fatima almost lost her life after being attacked by acid outside her home in Long Island, New York.

Nafiah Ikram, a 21-year-old medical student studying at the local university Hofstra, wants to become a doctor in the future.

According to reports, acid went into her throat choking her to death. Her face and eyes have been severely affected by the acid.

Nafiah Ikram was attacked with acid in front of her home in New York as she was getting out of a car with her mother.

According to the report, Nafiah Ikram and her mother had just got out of the car in front of their house on March 17 when an unidentified man approached them and fled by throwing acid on Nafiah’s face while she sustained severe injuries and almost lost her sight.

Nafiah’s mother rushed her to a nearby hospital soon after the attack.

The student’s father, Sheikh Ikram, 50, said Nafia was targeted on her way home from work.

The New York Post quoted him as saying in a report that ‘this was not an accidental attack but a planned one.’

This is the third attack on the Pakistani community in the United States in a few weeks.

The American media is totally silent and hence, there is no mention of this racist attack anywhere.
