Sept 2, 2021: Fearless and fearless leader of the struggle for independence of Kashmir who spent his entire life in jail and detention during this timeless struggle and died in jail. Funeral prayers of Syed Ali Gilani should be offered in different cities of Pakistan.

Hurriyat Conference senior leader Syed Ali Gilani was in critical condition. Syed Ali Gilani’s health deteriorated due to prolonged detention. He had difficulty in breathing due to lung infection. He departed from the world with his dreams of an independant Kashmir as yet unrealized, but his struggles are not only remembered, but will also be continued.

Following the tragic death of senior Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani, Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that the Pakistani flag will be lowered in half and a day of official mourning will be observed across the country.

“Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Kashmiri freedom fighter Syed Ali Geelani who struggled all his life for his people & their right to self-determination,” the premier wrote on his official Twitter handle on Wednesday.

The prime minister said Gilani had faced imprisonment and torture by the occupying Indian state but remained determined. In another tweet, he wrote, “We salute his courageous struggle in Pakistan and remember his words: ‘We are Pakistanis and Pakistan is ours.'”

 

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa said, “His lifelong sacrifices and constant struggle are a sign of the invincible determination of the Kashmiris against the Indian occupation. His dream and his mission will live on until the people of IIOJ & K win their right to self-determination.”

 

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Gilani fought till the last for the rights of Kashmiris. “Pakistan mourns the loss of Syed Ali Shah Gilani, the torchbearer of Kashmir independence movement. Shah fought till the last for the rights of Kashmiris, remained under house arrest under Indian occupation. May he have peace and his dream of independence come true, “Qureshi wrote on Twitter.

 

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi tweeted that Gilani had dedicated his life to Kashmir’s independence.

Former Chief Minister of Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) Mehbooba Mufti has expressed grief over the death of Gilani. She wrote on his Twitter handle, “We may not agree on most things but I respect him for his steadfastness and adherence to his beliefs.”

Other members of the government, including Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, also paid tribute to the veteran Kashmiri leader.

 

The Central Cabinet of Kashmir Youth Alliance has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani, who chanted “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours”, a slogan imprinted on the hearts of every youth of Kashmir and Pakistan.

In the joint condolence message, the central leaders of Kashmir Youth Alliance, Dr. Syed Mujahid Gilani, Muhammad Saad Arsalan Sadiq, Taha Muneeb, Kashif Zaheer, Razi Tahir, Naveed Ahmed, Shaista Safi, Makhdoom Shahabuddin, Dr. Osama Zafar, Usman Jula and others said that Syed Ali Gilani’s sudden demise has shocked Kashmir and Pakistan.

Syed Ali Gilani was the image of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He spent his entire life in the struggle for independence. Kashmiris will continue the mission of Syed Ali Gilani and the day is not far when the dream of independence will be realized.

In addition to other places, the Islamabad Kashmir Youth Alliance has announced that funeral prayers of Kashmiri elder leader will be offered in absentia at National Press Club Islamabad today at 2:30 PM.

Also, today, on Thursday, September 2, the funeral prayers of the great leader of Tehreek-e-Azadi Kashmir Syed Ali Gilani will be offered in absentia after noon prayers (1:30 pm) in Mansura, Lahore. Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq will deliver the address and funeral prayers. 

Funeral prayers in absentia will be offered by Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani on Thursday at 05:00 PM at Sheeranwala Bagh, Gujranwala.

Funeral prayers of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani will be offered at National Press Club in Islamabad on Thursday, September 2 at 2:30 pm.

Syed Ali Gilani’s funeral prayers will be offered in absentia in Karachi today at 5 pm at New MA Jinnah Road near Noor-e-Haq.

The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir said that he was saddened to hear of the demise of Syed Ali Gilani. Syed Ali Gilani was the soul of the Kashmir Independence Movement. Syed Ali Gilani had dedicated his entire life to the Kashmir Independence Movement.

The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir said that Syed Ali Gilani bravely faced Indian oppression, Syed Ali Gilani’s sacrifices will never be in vain and the Kashmiri nation will follow in the footsteps of Syed Ali Gilani and achieve the goal of independence. Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi said that the demise of Syed Ali Gilani was an irreparable loss.

A spokesman for the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir said that a one-day holiday and three days of mourning would be observed in Azad Kashmir on the death of Syed Ali Gilani. Funeral prayers of Syed Ali Gilani will also be offered in all the district headquarters of Azad Kashmir today.
