LAHORE, JUNE 26th: Pakistani bride appeals to Indian PM despite strained relations. 

Shumaila a resident of Pakistan and Kamal Kalyan, a resident of Jalandhar, a city in India got engaged in 2018 via video call, after which their marriage was scheduled for early 2020, but the marriage is still delayed due to the lockdown.

According to Indian media, Indian citizen Kamal Kalyan has appealed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to issue visas to his Pakistani bride Shumaila and her family so that they can reach India and perform their marriage. Pakistani girl Shumaila has also appealed to the Indian Prime Minister to issue a visa. According to Indian media, Shumaila has spoken on the phone and said that she wants to marry Kamal Kalyan as soon as possible, but the Indian government has not issued a visa.

Shumaila says that Kalyan had prepared visa papers for her and her family in India, but the coronavirus caused a lockdown in both countries. Shumaila says that I appeal to both of the governments for a visa to be issued so that we can get married soon.
