Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistan’s Defense Minister, in his latest remarks, stated that the ceasefire agreement with Afghanistan is conditional, adding that the agreement depends on the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s ability to control opposition groups, those who, according to him, use Afghan soil to launch attacks on Pakistan.
He said that no specific timeline has been set for the ceasefire, and the situation will continue as long as the agreement is not violated.
The Pakistani defense minister added: “This was very clearly spelled out that there won’t be any incursions and TTP will not have any facility on their soil. We kept on repeating.”
Meanwhile, Suhail Shaheen, acting ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Qatar, stated that the Islamic Emirate has no ties with the activities of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan.
Shaheen added: “We do not allow anyone to misuse Afghan soil to attack Pakistan. We have declared our resolve in this matter; we do not accept any group and do not support anyone.”
