Pakistani Students in Turkey no Longer Need to Quarantine Upon Return

Ankara: Pakistani students going back to Turkey for their education no longer need to spend time in quarantine in a hotel.

Previously, Turkey had issued a new travel policy for several countries, namely Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and India, which required students and visitors to quarantine themselves for 7 to 10 days in a hotel after arriving in Turkey.

Turkish officials had stated back then that the visitors themselves would have to bear the costs of the hotel, along with having to pay an additional 200 euros for isolation in a government-approved hotel.

However, according to reports, this requirement has been lifted by the Turkish government for students going from Pakistan to Turkey.

According to the Pakistan Embassy, university hostels have been allocated in Istanbul and Ankara for student quarantine. Students will have to show their university registration, after which they will be exempted from the mandatory quarantine condition.
