Pakistanis to Face Reduction in Salaries

LAHORE (14th Nov, 2019): Pakistanis to see drop in their real salaries in 2020.

According to the latest salary trend report released by ECA International, Pakistani workers would unfortunately witness a decline in their salaries. Pakistan is the only nation in Asia Pacific predicted to see a decrease in their real salary next year.

Amid rising inflation and depreciation of local currency, the people of Pakistan would unfortunately witness a decline in their salaries.

Lee Quane, Regional Director Asia at ECA International explained, “Employees will be worse off than they were last year because the average real salary increase in Pakistan is forecast to be -3.0%.”

He further added, “Inflation in Pakistan is forecast to reach 13.0% next year, leaving Pakistani workers out of pocket as compared to 2019.”

Reportedly, India topped the table for average real salary increases not only in Asia, but also tops the table globally for 2020.
