Pakistan’s delegation pays respects at Nizam-u-din Aulia shrine in New Delhi

Nov 22, 2021: On the occasion of the 718th anniversary of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (may Allah have mercy on him), a delegation of Pakistani pilgrims laid a traditional chadar on the shrine of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya in Delhi on Monday.
Pakistani pilgrims along with Charge d’Affaires Aftab Hassan Khan and diplomats of Pakistan High Commission in India laid a traditional chadar on the shrine of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (RA) in Delhi.
A group of 60 Pakistani pilgrims, led by Amjad Ali, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Islamabad, from 18 to 25 November 2021, according to a statement issued by Pakistan High Commission India in Delhi.
The statement said, “At the Dargah Sharif, the delegation of Pakistani Zaireen and Charge d’Affaires Khan accompanied by the High Commission’s diplomats were welcomed by Sajjadah Nasheen Dewan Syed Tahir Nizami and other notable members of the Dargah Committee.”
After laying the chadar, prayers were offered. Sajjada Nasheen Dewan Syed Tahir Nizami also laid a wreath at the Nazim-e-Ala and group leader of the pilgrims. The statement further said that the pilgrims also visited the shrine of Hazrat Amir Khosrow, which is located in the same compound, and offered prayers.
Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (may Allah have mercy on him) was the third spiritual successor of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti (may Allah have mercy on him). He is known for his love of humanity by feeling love for the Creator.
His followers are all over South Asia, including Pakistan. The Urs of 14th century Chishtia Sufi saint Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (RA) is celebrated every year with traditional fervor. Devotees from many countries attend his urs.
Pakistani visitors are attending the annual Urs Mubarak tour of religious sites under the framework of the 1974 India-Pakistan Protocol for visits to Religious shrines.
