PALPA reminds its members to ensure flight safety

Pakistan Airline Pilots’ Association (PALPA), has reminded all their members to adhere to Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Air Navigation Order (ANO) 19.0012 till the effectivity of ANO 12-FXSS-6.0.

According to the details, the two above-mentioned air navigation orders were made to ensure proper rest and manage fatigue. “It is obvious that safety is ensured by following these rules,” says the airline association in its letter.

In a letter to its members, PALPA said that all the members are reminded that any compromise with Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) will strictly be monitored by the Pakistan CAA and PALPA as well, just to ensure that no member violates any rule in the aforementioned documents.

In the letter, the executive committe of the pilots’ association highlighted a few rules/clauses for the ease and awareness of their members. The important highlighted points are as follows:

  • “Routine planning and scheduling shall be as per Scheduling Policy…”
  • “Roster is synonymous with ‘Schedule’…”

It is to be noted that PALPA called a general body members meeting and invited all the present service and retired members of the General Body for a briefing to the pilots to fulfil their responsibilities in difficult and challenging situations and fight for flight safety.
