Pandemic: A blessing in disguise

19th June: If the current situation of the world has taught us something, it is that life is very unexpected. No matter how much we end up planning, how many back plans we keep, we ultimately can never be sure they come true.

I’m sure some of you would have planned an amazing summer holiday for yourself and your families, some of you would have planned to have the best summers with your friends, whilst some of you (mostly the students) were planning to give their exams and then anxiously spend the summers waiting for their result. But look where we all are now?

The entire world is at a halt, friends living in the same city cannot meet each other, you can’t go to visit your relatives and all you can do is sit by yourself at home and think about doing something new every day.

Global Pandemic & the lessons learnt!

Now had you ever planned that? I’m assuming the answer is no.

This time is extremely crucial and there are some benefits to it as well: firstly, you get to explore yourself.

In the fast and busy routines that we were all living in, there has been a break, this is probably the slowest our lives have been in a while.

Hence, it has provided us with an opportunity that we probably won’t get again for some time. Take this time to understand yourself, check what’s been bothering you, and fill in that mental void.

[bs-quote quote=”Take time to relax and unwind by perhaps standing with a cup of tea on your balcony and breathing in that summer air, because you literally having nothing else to do.” style=”style-17″ align=”center” color=”#dd0000″][/bs-quote]

Moreover, it has given each and every one of us an opportunity to learn something new. With so much free time at your disposal, spend it efficiently by learning something new: find the hidden artist within you, the chef, the writer, that pianist or guitarist.

10 things to practice under lockdown

Find a new hobby, start gardening or learn how to sew. You won’t get an opportunity like this again in your life, you won’t have the chance to say ‘I have so much free time, let’s try something new,’ because when things go back to normal, we’ll be sucked into our busy schedules and running routines, you’ll go back to waking up early in the morning, rushing to work or school and coming back tired in the afternoon.

[bs-quote quote=”If there is one thing we have learned, it is to live in the moment, to appreciate the beauty around us, and that it’s truly the small things that matter in life. ” style=”style-17″ align=”center” color=”#dd0000″][/bs-quote]

So cherish the moments you spend with your friends, enjoy your time spent in school, go to that dinner party your colleagues invited you to because you’ll never do so if you’ll get the chance to that again.
