ISLAMABAD, Sep 21 (Online Int’l): Speaker National Assembly (NA) Asad Qaisar has called upon the UN to play its role in resolution of Kashmir and Palestine problems.
“The peaceful resolution of conflicts is inevitable for durable peace in the world. UN should play its due role to resolve Kashmir and Palestine issues”, he said while addressing a seminar in connection with International Day of Peace on Monday.
He underlined that Islam imparts teachings of peace and peace can be ensured in the world by following them. We will not hesitate to lay down our lives for the sake of peace, he added.
He went on to say that the people of Palestine have been rendering sacrifices since the several last decades. Condemning the blatant human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K), the Speaker said that Indian troops have been given a free hand to persecute the innocent and armless Kashmiri people.
He appealed to the international community to play its role for establishment of peace in Kashmir. It is a must that the Kashmir issue be addressed as per UN resolutions for lasting peace in South Asia.
He lamented that the people of Kashmir stand deprived of the basic facilities of life since the last one year. Over 22,000 Kashmiri women have become widows and thousands of Kashmir youths have been martyred by Indian forces. Hundreds of Kashmiri women have been raped. The international community will have to play its role to grant the right of self-determination to Kashmiris.
Parliament will be made the epicentre to highlight the Kashmir issue at an international level, he remarked.
