PDMA issues alert of a major flood in Sindh

KARACHI: The PDMA has issued an alert warning of major floods in Sindh.

According to Baaghi TV, Sindh Provincial Disaster Management has issued a major flood alert and said that after the destruction of super monsoon rains, major flood waters are coming to Sindh.

In this regard, the PDMA wrote a letter to the DDMA and all the Deputy Commissioners, expressing concern that flood waters would come to Sukkur and Kacha areas of Sindh.

The PDMA has said that there is a flood alert in Guddu and Sukkur in the Indus River. On September 8 and 9, floods will pass through Sukkur Barrage and Guddu Barrage.

The PDMA said the floods could inundate unpaved areas, so arrangements should be made to evacuate people immediately.

Today, due to high flow of water on the barrages of Indus River, there was a situation of moderate and low level flood, moderate flood at Guddu Barrage and low level flood at Sukkur Barrage.

Guddu Barrage recorded 400296 cusecs of water and 394076 cusecs of discharge, 307025 cusecs of water at Sukkur Barrage and 291125 cusecs of discharge, 176442 cusecs of water at Kotri Barrage and 176092 cusecs of discharge.
