Lahore, 28th February: Petrol prices are likely to soar high from March 1, 2021.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, petrol prices in Pakistan may rise by Rs 20.70 a litre tomorrow i.e Monday, as per the recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

A final decision on changes in the petrol prices is expected later today by the finance ministry following consultation with Prime Minister Imran Khan. After which a petrol bomb would come into effect starting from 1st March.

According to the recommendations of OGRA, a summary proposing an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 20.70 and Rs 19.61 a litre, respectively, was sent to the petroleum ministry.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Imran Khan had rejected the OGRA’s prior recommendation to increase the petrol prices, wherein the agency had sought an increase of Rs 14.07 and Rs 13.61 per litre, respectively, in the prices of petrol and diesel.

The authority had also recommended an increase in the price of kerosene oil by Rs 10.79 per litre.

However, as per PM Khan’s decisions, the finance ministry had stated that the petrol prices would remain unchanged at Rs 111.90 per litre and that the price of diesel would be maintained at Rs 116.07 a litre.
