PHA Considering to Hand Over Minar-e-Pakistan Security to Rangers

In view of the historic status of Minar-e-Pakistan and keeping in mind the incident that took place on August 14, 2021, vice chairman Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Hafiz Zeeshan Rasheed suggested that the security of this glorious park should be handed over to Pakistan Rangers.
According to the details, Hafiz Zeeshan said that there should be a permanent police chowky installed at the Greater Iqbal Park and security rangers should be deployed at Minar-e-Pakistan keeping in mind the historical and sacred importance of the monument.
Furthermore, PHA has decided to bring reforms after the Greater Iqbal Park incident and Hafiz Zeeshan has forwarded the suggestions to the competent authority. In his letter to the Director General (DG) PHA, it is proposed that only families should be allowed to enter the Greater Iqbal Park in order to stop vandalism and harassment cases.

Hafiz Zeeshan said that Youtubers and Tik-Tokers should be allowed to shoot in parks only after permission, moreover, they should get an approval of their script prior to the shoot from competent authorities. Yesterday, the PHA Punjab had issued a notification banning the entry of Tik-Tokers in the parks.

It said Tik-Tokers would have to submit a permit before entering the parks and would be allowed to make a Tik-Tok video after receiving a formal permit. The authority is also considering banning more than two men from entering the park at the same time. However, no restrictions are being imposed on families.
