TikTokers Banned from Entering Public Parks

In light of the recent Minar-e-Pakistan incident, the Punjab Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has imposed a ban on the entry of Tiktokers into all public parks.

According to details, in a statement made by the PHA, all Tiktokers must now obtain an official permit for entering the park, and will only be able to make videos after they’ve received a formal license.

Apart from this, the PHA is also considering banning the entry of more than two men into the parks at a single time. The cause of this is the recent incident at the Greater Iqbal Park in Minar-e-Pakistan wherein a Tiktoker was harassed by more than 400 men on 14th August, Pakistan’s Independence Day.

As it stands, 130 people have been arrested, 40 of which were identified through video evidence. 70 of the arrested suspects were released after those who were involved were identified.

The decision for the ban was put forth by the PHA yesterday, on Sunday, however, another proposal is also looming.

According to the proposal, money will be charged from Tiktokers in public parks and they will also be provided security for a certain duration of time. However, it is on Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar what decision will be made.

Furthermore, Punjab public parks will also undergo a major security upgrade, with help from private companies.

Reports also state that the Prime Minister will be visiting Lahore on Wednesday during which he will be briefed regarding the incident along with provincial affairs. A meeting will be held at the Chief Minister House where a review will be done of the projects launched to uplift Punjab.
