Islamabad July 23 (Online Int’l): A delegation of photojournalists based in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Thursday called on Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar in Islamabad and briefed him about the challenges they faced during coverage amid Covid-19 pandemic.
The photojournalists, in detail, informed the Governor about their problems, they also demanded immediate resolve of their problems.
The photojournalists’ delegation was composed by Rawalpindi-Islamabad Photojournalist Association President Sohail Malik, Vice-President Wahab Saleem, Secretary Finance Waseem Khan and Joint Secretary Shahid.
The photojournalists delegation informed the governor that like other sectors of the community, the photojournalists community is also facing various challenges amid Covid-19 pandemic. They demanded announcement of a special package and annual fund for photojournalists likewise other sectors of the community.
Governor Chaudhry Sarwar appreciated the positive role of the media during the Covid-19 pandemic and assured that the government will take all possible measures to facilitate the journalist community. He also assured the delegation that he will take special interest in the addressing of their problems. The governor also said he will communicate with the minister of information to inform him about the problems faced by the photojournalists community.
