PIA to start flight operations to United Kingdom

August 15, 2021: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Boeing 777-200ER (aircraft registration AP-BGJ) has reached Islamabad from Kabul as flight PK6250.

According to details, the PIA aircraft was stuck in the capital city of Afghanistan due to flight operations disruption caused by political situation in the country.

The aircraft which arrived at 10:42 am (local time) departed from Kabul at 4:06 PM (local time) after staying for more than five hours. On humanitarian basis, eight passengers without tickets were allowed to board PIA flight PK6250 from Kabul to Islamabad today. Flight’s departure from Kabul Airport was delayed due to political situation in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan‘s Tajik leader Salahuddin Rabbani, Younis Qanuni, Ahmad Shah Massoud’s brother, Ahmad Wali Massoud, Hazara leader Ustad Mohaqiq, Karim Khalili, Ustad Atanur’s son and Afghan National Assembly Speaker Rahmani Arrived in Pakistan by special flight of PIA.

Sources said that various countries had requested the PIA to launch a special operation on which it was decided to operate special flights to Afghanistan. In view of the passenger load, Pakistan’s national flag carrier has also sought permission from Afghan civil aviation authorities for additional flights.

Taliban Delegation Enters Afghan Presidential Palace

It is to be noted that flights at Kabul International Airport have been suspended following reports of Taliban infiltration into the Afghan capital, Kabul. Sources said that an Air India flight from the Indian capital New Delhi to Kabul was circling the airspace.

The flight AI 243 reached Kabul at 1:42 am (local time) but has not yet landed. The Indian aircraft is flying at an altitude of 16,000 feet.
