PIA crew member gets recognized by UN

Lahore, 23rd March: A PIA crew member gets awarded by the UN for showing empathy to a woman on flight.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, a crew member Touheed Daudpota from Pakistan International Airline (PIA) was recently recognised for his act of kindness by the UN.

Recently, a video went viral on social media where pictures were posted of Mr Touheed helping to soothe a crying baby on a flight from Karachi to Islamabad.

The steward was declared the ‘He For She Champion by UN Women Pakistan’ which is a branch of the United Nations that works for gender equality and women’s empowerment. They honoured him for displaying empathy, respect and care to a woman passenger.

The official Twitter account of PIA celebrated the news by sharing a snippet of the ceremony.

The post read, “Mr Touheed Daudpota, the crew of #PIA, whose photos of soothing a baby went viral, was declared by @unwomen_pakm the #HeforShe champion for displaying empathy, gender sensitivity, respect & care to a women pax, upholding long traditions of ‘#GreatPeopletoFlyWith#GenerationEquali

It may be noted that the national carrier has been in news for the recent past for its poor services, faulty planes, financial crisis and fake pilot’s licenses case.

Hence such recognition for PIA comes as refreshing news!
