The two-year contract of employment of 55 cabin crew members of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has expired on June 26 (today).

According to the details, the national carrier has decided not to extend the contract of these cabin crew due to limited flight operations amid coronavirus pandemic.

As per the details received by Baaghi TV, these employees were placed on a two-year contract to meet temporary needs of the national airline. However, the PIA spokesman said that letters have been issued to employees informing them of the expiration of the contract.

It is to be noted that airlines around the world have felt the pain of a drop in demand due to the coronavirus. The 2020 coronavirus has dealt a serious blow to the airline industry.
