Earlier this year, China locked down the entire province of Hubei, including Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus epidemic, due to which more than 500 Pakistani students studying there were trapped.

The students and their parents urged the government to take steps to repatriate them, but the Chinese government assured the students of their care. Moreover, the Government of Pakistan decided not to repatriate the students immediately to prevent the spread of the virus.

All passengers upon arriving in Pakistan have been subject to relevant procedures of government for containing the spread of disease.
