PIA Flight Sent Back As Crew Member Tests Positive in China #Baaghi

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Boeing 777-200ER registration AP-BGJ arrived in Islamabad from Xi’an after an aircraft crew member has tested positive for COVID-19 in China.

According to the details, the PIA crew member was carrying COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test report with negative result from Pakistan.

The aircraft arrived in Xi’an from Islamabad as flight PK-854, however, on July 11, 2021, it departed as flight PK-855 to Islamabad without going to Beijing from Xi’an.

Reports reveal that the aircraft, which was expected to reach Islamabad on July 11, 2021 at 9:30 PM (PST) from Beijing with 114 passengers onboard, landed in Islamabad at 2:50 AM (PST) on July 12, 2021 as flight PK-855.

It is to be noted that PIA flights from Islamabad to Beijing via Xi’an were suspended for one month by the Chinese officials in January this year. The action was taken after a number of passengers carried by the airline tested positive for coronavirus upon arrival in China.
