Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) issued a show-cause notice to Captain Qasim Qadir, spokesperson of Pakistan Airline Pilots Association (PALPA) for publicly criticizing the company policies.

According to the details of Baaghi TV, Captain Qasim Qadir, while sitting on a TV program “BREAKING POINT” publicly criticized the company policies which brought disrepute to the airline. Moreover, the statements given by PALPA’s spokesperson also created unrest among its employees and the general public.

Such act is considered to be equivalent to misconduct under the Employees Disciplinary Policy -2019 (EDP-2019). According to the EDP-2019, making false or misleading statements against the company is considered to be a misconduct.

Moreover, unauthorized disclosure of information or unauthorized handling of documents and any act of omission or commission which is against the image of the company or country is considered to be unacceptable.

Therefore, the spokesperson of PALPA was asked to submit a written reply within seven days of the notice period otherwise further action as deemed under the rules of the company shall be taken against him.
