PIA makes alternative arrangements for the UK flights

Karachi: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have made alternative arrangements to resume flight operations to the United Kingdom (UK).

According to details, PIA spokesman Abdullah Khan said that bookings for direct flights to the UK have started and the first flight has already been completed. Spokesperson Abdullah Khan said that PIA has a limited number of seats with high service which are being booked.

Moreover, the national airline is also providing 45 kg per passenger baggage on these flights, however, in-flight entertainment will also be available to PIA passengers. The spokesman said the airline had received requests to operate more flights from Manchester.

It is pertinent to note that after the suspension of PIA flights, other airlines had increased fares dramatically. Fares are expected to return to normal after these flights.

It may be recalled that the PIA had said yesterday that alternative arrangements have been made for the resumption of flight operations to the UK. An agreement has been reached between the national airline and the Portuguese airline in this regard under which flights are being operated by modern Airbus A330 with a 300 plus seating capacity.

According to the spokesman, the social distance in the plane will be taken care of and and PIA will start operations from the UK on August 14. Flight PK 9702 will depart from Manchester carrying more than 250 passengers to Islamabad, while flight PK 9785 will leave Islamabad for London on August 15.
