PIA operates the highest number of flight to Skardu
For the first time in the history of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Pakistan, six flights have landed at the Skardu airport in a single day.
According to the details, Skardu which is considered to be a remote area, received only five flights per week until last year. However, as per the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan and PIA, the number of flights have been increased to the northern area, a step to promote tourism in the country.
According to details, Skardu airport is now handling more flights than most of the major airports of the country as twelve flights were handled on July 24, 2021 (today). Flights arrived and departed from Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot and Faisalabad.
