PIA PK-306: Pilot risking the precious lives of passengers
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight number PK-306 entered into the Indian airspace, on Friday, putting the precious lives of airline passengers in danger.
According to the details, flight number PK-306 took off from Karachi but due to bad weather conditions was instructed by the air traffic control (ATC) to land in Islamabad instead of Lahore. However, Captain Babar, who was the pilot, entered fifteen (15) miles into the Indian airspace risking the lives of the passengers.
Luckily, the Indian Defence System was inactive at the time of this air intrusion, otherwise, it could have caused a huge disaster. Baaghi TV has confirmed this airspace violation from within the airline and PIA sources have confirmed the news.
It is still not confirmed whether the airline or the regulatory authorities have taken any action against the pilot, Captain Babar, and the first officer.
COVID-19: ‘Baaghi’ PIA pilots putting lives at risk
It is to be noted that the while coming to Lahore from Karachi, the border is very close towards the right side and incase required deviation has to be done towards left whereas this pilot deviated towards the right and crossed into the Indian territory towards Amritsar. His incursion was almost 15 miles in the Indian territory.
Back in 1982-83, a similar incident took place when a Pakistani flying club’s Cessna aircraft deviated into the Indian airspace, which was forcibly taken down by the Indian forces, was dismantled and returned after months.
With decline in COVID-19, NCOC decides to increase flight schedule
Baaghi TV has also confirmed the exact intrusion from Flight Radar and their records. We await the action by the airline. Unfortunately, no one at Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is available for comment and despite being 48 hours into this incident CAA has not done anything about the matter.
